Formed in 1996, 3 Doors Down is a popular rock band loved for their expressive lyrics and heavy music. Three friends growing up in a small town in Mississippi shared a love for music and a desire to perform. Beginning as teenagers in high school, the band started out informally playing in friends' backyards and escalating to playing in commercial establishments around the city. Brad Arnold started out as a drummer and quickly moved into position as lead vocalist, with bassist Todd Harrell and guitarist Matt Roberts backing him on their instruments. Starting out, they sang a combination of cover songs plus their own music, with the lyrics written by Brad Arnold.
3 Doors Down got their break with their signature song, 'Kryptonite' in 2001. Written by Arnold when he was 15, it was released by the band to a local radio station, where it gained growing popularity and eventually led to a contract with Universal Studios. From there, the band's recognition only grew as they released albums and took on tours.
Over the years the band has evolved and shifted from three friends playing in a small town to an internationally known group comprised of five current members. Chris Henderson and Greg Upchurch were added to fill out the sound and are now a regular part of the band. The band's songs- both album versions and singles- regularly top the charts in America as well as around the world in countries such as the UK and Australia, gaining the coveted gold and platinum statuses numerous times. A 3 Doors Down tour is a regular sellout across the country as excited fans surge to see them live. With four albums and a long list of extras including singles, DVDs, EPs, and more, the popularity of this band speaks for itself. The release date for the next album is scheduled to be announced in the coming years of 2010/11.
The high attractiveness of every album put out by the group ensures the long-lasting livelihood of their status and fame, and tickets to 3 Doors Down will always be in high demand. If you're interested in seeing them on tour, make sure to plan well ahead as tickets generally sellout fast.
