About 311
311 is an amazing band with a pure unique sound. They originated out of Omaha, Nebraska from both the west and south side. The band members, Nick Hexum, Tim Mahoney, Chad Sexton, P-Nut and SA Martinez played their first opening gig for the Fugazi on June 10th 1990. 311’s first CD entitled “Music” was released in 1993 and has since gone Gold. Their music is a mix of rock and funk that you can’t help but dance to.
With Nick Hexum and Tim Mahoney on guitar, P-Nut on bass, Chad Sexton on drums, and SA Martinez singing lead vocals, its no mystery why 311 skyrocketed to fame. SA has a smooth voice that you will fall in love with instantly. He has a way of mixing words with the melodic rhythms of the band behind him.
311 recently released a new CD, “Uplifter” on June 2, 2009. The album was produced by Bob Rock who has also produced Bon Jovi, Metallica, Aerosmith, Offspring, Simple Plan, and many more. The new album has 12 amazing songs (or 14 if you purchase the Deluxe version) that ring true of 311’s unique sound. Add that to other 15 albums that 311 has already put out, and you have an awesome repertoire of rock funk music.

With hits like “All Mixed Up”, “Transistor” and “Down”, just about everybody does and you’re in luck because 311 are currently on tour and may be coming to your area soon. Last year in New Orleans 311 sold out their show. They put on a legendary performance for 14,000 screaming fans. The fans were kept happy for 63 songs which spanned over 5 hours.
