About Aventura
Aventura an innovative musical group brought fresh and well needed air for the Bachata music genre that started to weaken in the Caribbean in the late 90’s.
Their songs with lyrics in English and Spanish also infused music genres like R&B, Reggaeton and even Hip-Hop to the original base of Bachata music. This was something that made them struggle for a long time while touring in the United States for several years in the early 90’s, but in the late 90’s they finally succeeded.
Aventura is formed by lead singer and featured songwriter Anthony “Romeo” Santos, 2nd voice and songwriter Henry Santos Jeter, guitarist and musical arranger Lenny Santos and bass player and rap artist Max “Mikey” Santos. All of them are from The Bronx, New York with Dominican origins, with the exception of Henry, who is the only one born in the Dominican Republic. Their music is mostly romantic. Most of their lyrics are about sadness and heartbreak, although some of their songs are also about infidelity and troubled relationships.
Their discography includes albums like:
*Generation next. (1999)
*We broker the rules. (2002)
*Love & hate. (2003)
*Unplugged (2004) (Live)
*God’s project. (2005)
*K.O.V. Live. (2006)
*Kings of Bachata: Sold out at Madison Square Garden. (2007) (Live)
*The last. (2009)
Some of their hits include songs like: “Un beso”, “Mi corazoncito”, “Por un segundo”, “Su veneno”, “El perdedor”, “All up 2 you” and their first hit “Obsesión” which opened many doors for them in the USA and the international music market.
The promotion for the song “Por un segundo” included in their album “The Last” started in 2009 reaching the number one spot in Latin Charts early the same year. Their second promoted single was “All up 2 you” -featuring reggaeton sensation Wisin & Yandel and Akon- and the last one is “Su veneno”. The Aventura tour is starting late in 2009 and they’re expecting to have the same success they had in prior years, thanks to their latest singles.
