Pop music’s bad girl Avril Lavigne has created a stir yet again when she announced plans to file for divorce from fellow musician Deryck Whibley. It has been noted that the pair have separated on good terms and that they only wish each other the best. Avril has been dubbed the ‘Pop Punk Princess’ and is currently working on her fourth studio album due out sometime in 2010. The Canadian born singer, songwriter, fashion designer, has been making a splash in music since her debut album ‘Let Go’ was released in 2002. The young singer has sold over thirty million albums worldwide and has had five number one singles including Complicated, Sk8er Boi, I’m With You, My Happy Ending, and Girlfriend.
In addition to her music career Avril has written songs for other musicians like Kelly Clarkson. Avril penned the Clarkson single Breakaway which was featured on the Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement soundtrack. She also has a hand in fashion design when she launched her own clothing line called Abbey Dawn in 2008. The name is derived from a childhood nickname she had and can be found in Kohl’s retail stores. Avril designs for the company herself and her collections include the type of clothe she normally wears. Zebra print, hot pinks and blacks are all the front runners in her collections. In 2009 she released Black Star, her first fragrance consisting of dark chocolate, black plum, and pink hibiscus.
Avril Lavigne is in hot demand when it comes to putting on a live show. She first started touring with her Try To Shut Me Up tour and has toured with other acts such as fellow Canadian band Simple Plan. If you’ve never seen an Avril Lavigne tour you are missing you. She actually sings live and she can even be seen playing her own guitar. Not a lot of female musicians play their own instruments, but on occasion she does. Any avid fan of hers would have tickets to Avril Lavigne as soon as they come out, so please make sure you purchase yours as soon as you can to make sure your admittance is secured.
