About Beyonce
Beyonce Giselle Knowles was born in September 1981. Beyonce was born in Houston, Texas to Mathew and Tina Knowles. Beyonce’s parents spotted talent when Beyonce was young and encouraged her to carry on with her dream of being a musician. At the age of nine, Beyonce and her friends formed Destiny’s child. Feeling that his daughter was on the right path, Mathew Knowles began managing his daughters group. Seven short years later, Destiny’s Child debut album hit the music scene. Their first song to be debuted in a film, “Killing Time”, can be heard in the movie “Men in Black”. In 1998 the album went platinum selling over 3 million copies. In 1999 the bands second album “The Writings on the Wall”, brought the bands first number 1 hit on the billboards. The song was, “Bills, Bills, Bills”, this was only the first of many.
In 2003, Beyonce released her first solo album “Dangerously in Love”. The album earned Beyonce several Grammy Awards in 2004. But, 2004 brought about more changes in Beyonce’s life, Destiny’s Child decided that it was time to disband so that all members of the group could work on solo careers.
Recently, Beyonce has released her third album: “I AM….SASHA FIERCE”. Beyonce has told many reporters that “Sasha Fierce” is a persona that she created many years ago. She felt shy when getting on stage in front of a crowd and needed a way to release and open up to her fans, Sasha was that release.
For 2009, Beyonce is touring as well as keeping up with her movie career.
