More About Blink 182

Blink 182 is a pop punk band hailing from Poway California. The group began in 1992 with members Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Scott Raynor. They cut their first demo in 1993 titled Flyswatter. It was mostly given out to friends and family. They had their first commercially successful album titled Dude Ranch. It went on to sell two and a half million records. In the middle of a 1998 United States tour, Scott Raynor left the band and was replaced by now drummer Travis Barker. Their next big album would come the next year. Enema of the State was released in 1999 and propelled the band into mainstream coverage. With songs like Adam's Song, All the Small Things, and What's My Age Again they received radio air play and time on MTV. Adam's Song created a controversy in 2000 after a teenager hanged himself in his garage while the song played on repeat. Enema of the state was probably their biggest selling album with a cool fifteen million copies sold world wide. Their next two albums were released in 2001 and 2003 and produced hits such as Feeling This, I Miss You, and Always. In 2005 tensions rose among the band which led to a bit of demise. Their tour was canceled and it seemed like the band was over. They announced their intent to quit music and did so for four years. During that time members were doing their own thing and Travis Barker was in a nearly fatal airplane crash. He and one other person were the only survivors. At the 2009 Grammy's the band appeared together on stage for the first time in nearly five years. They announced that they were reuniting and the next day the same message appeared on their website. The band is practicing again and has plans to tour again. There's no doubt that all of their fans certainly hope that is the case and many of fans consider Blink 182's live performances to be the best they've ever experienced.
