The history behind the CMA's is just astounding. If you had to judge a country music artist by the amount of times that they have won the CMA's Entertainer of the Year award, you are dealing with some illustrious company. Eddie Arnold was the first winner of the award but that set the pace for folks such as Johnny Cash ('69), Merle Haggard ('70), and Loretta Lynn ('72). The 1980's and 90's brought multiple time winners such as the two that hold the record with 4 and that being Garth Brooks and Kenny Chesney. Alabama, Hank Williams, Jr., Barbara Mandrell, Vince Gill, George Strait, and Alan Jackson are also multiple time winners. All of these folks are either in the Hall of Fame or will eventually be inducted.
If you are looking to see the country music stars shining at their best, the CMA Awards is definitely the number one destination to make that happen.
