David Gray is a musician who was born and raised in England. He plays the guitar and piano and is categorized in the singer/songwriter genre of music. Gray released several albums in the early 90's including "A Century Ends" and "Flesh', which were well received in the folk-rock scene, but it was his 1998 album "White Ladder" that launched him into the mainstream of both the UK and the United States. "White Ladder" also holds the title of Ireland's best selling album ever. After the success of "White Ladder', he went on to release "A New Day at Midnight', which was met with positive reviews, as well as "Life in Slow Motion'. All in all, David Gray's albums have sold over twelve million copies worldwide.
In addition to a successful recording career, David Gray has also been very successful with his touring endeavors. This can be attributed to the many current and former talented musicians that have been in his band. Currently, the band is comprised of Rob Malone on the bass, Keith Pryor on the drums, and James Hallawell on the keyboards. His former band members of note were Craig McClune on the drums, Tim Bradshaw on keyboards, and David Nolte on guitar. Together, Gray and both his current and former band members have traveled all over the world performing in front of live audiences in places such as Australia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, Spain, Sweden, and the United States.
The popularity of Gray's music can also be seen by its use in a number of films and television shows. His songs have appeared in films such as "Serendipity', "15 Minutes', "The Girl Next Door', and "The Hitcher', as well as the television shows "Smallville', "Rescue Me', and "Scrubs'.
Recently, Gray has released "Draw the Line', which is his eighth overall studio album and, as always, there is a David Gray tour to support the new album.
