Jet is originally from Australia, the band started in 2001 which consisted of band members Cameron Muncey, Mark Wilson, Nic Cester and Chris Cester. The group rocked the nation with it’s pop rock, hard rock, and garage rock revival music. The band sold over a million records with their debut album “Get Born” which was released in 2003. Nic Cester and his brother Chris decided to form a band with Nic’s friend whom they met while working at their dad’s factory. Cameron Muncey helped them create a band in 2001 and that’s when they took the name Jet because they wanted something short so it shows up in bold print. The bands first big break came when the rock band “The Specimens” put them on stage at The Duke of Windsor after seeing the group perform Dave Major signed the band up on a contract. Soon after the the bass player joined up with them and the band released a album called “Dirty Sweet” and the band pressed over 2,000 copies.
In Australia the band was quite popular and the interest of rock bands was getting increasingly high. The band signed a contract with Elektra records and did “Dirty Sweet” over in 2003. They released a debut album “Get Born” and the “Rolling Stones offered them a slot to tour with them in 2003 to Australia. As time went on Jet continued to spread all across countries and even toured across US countries. The band received many nominations for “Artist of the Year” and while performing they received the US 32nd Annual American Music Awards and Jet won three 2004 MTV Music Awards. In 2007 the group returned to Australia to finish the world tour and they announced the new coming of their new album which was said to be released in 2008. Among this the band produced a new song in 2009 called “Shaka Rock” which was released in Australia.
