Keane Tickets

Keane is considered by most to be a piano rock band. It was originally formed in Battle, Sussex in 1995. The group has three members; Tim Rice-Oxley, Tom Chaplin, and Richard Hughes. This band is considered unique as it uses the piano as the lead instrument in the band instead of the typical guitar being used. Keane has come a long way; even critics now say they are the band of the new millennium. In 1999, they made their first single, 'Call Me What You Like', which is a great feat in itself, as they still at this time had no record label. This did not stop them however, they continued to push forwards and brave the music world. It paid off well, in 2003 the label Island Records signed the band up. With their signing, came their first release under the label 'Somewhere Only We Know'. It reached up to number three on the singles charts. In 2004, Keane went on tour, a day after they released 'Hopes and Fears', which came out on top as number one on the charts. This wasn't the stopping point for Keane however, as they won two awards in 2006 in Britain alone. Here they won the Best British album, but not only that they also won the British breakthrough award. This still did not stop the band however, in 2007 during a video interview; information was leaked about album three. This album came out in 2006; 'Spiralling' was released as the first single. This led to even more publicity than the band ever imagined. They appeared on BBC as guests and reached number one with another single. Keane continues to manipulate the charts; they continue to hit plateaus that even they never thought was possible. To this day, a band with keyboards was never thought possible, however, Keane has done it and they have done it well. Keane has come a long way from their early days, but even the turmoil of creating a band did not stop them, they continue to dominate the music scene.
