More About Keith Urban

Keith Urban began his career as a young boy, and won numerous accolades at the Country Music Awards of Australia throughout the late 1970s and 1980s. Working mostly out of Brisbane, he signed his first official record deal with EMI in 1990. Mr. Urban's first solo record landed him several number one hits in Australia, New Zealand and Germany, giving rise to his international fame. By 1991, Urban had moved to the USA, and began breaking into the country music scene in Nashville. Eventually, Keith found a position as a guitar player in the Brooks & Dunn backup band and also performed with Alan Jackson on several occasions. Other musicians for whom Urban has done session work include Charlie Daniels, the Dixie Chicks and Garth Brooks. Shortly thereafter, Urban formed and briefly played with a country trio called The Ranch, and then went on to begin work again on his solo recording career. After the release of his self-titled American solo debut, Urban found himself in the limelight once again, only this time with even more renown. Over the next several years, the release of such groundbreaking albums as "Golden Road," "Be Here," "Love, Pain & The Whole Crazy Thing" met with continued commercial and critical success. Among his best known hits are "But for the Grace of God," "Somebody Like You," and "You Look Good in My Shirt," all of which reached the number one position on the US country music charts. This year marked the release of Keith Urban's new album "Defying Gravity" and the beginning of a new Keith Urban tour.
