Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta or better known as Lady Gaga is a singer, but it took her a little bit of time to get to where she is today. She had a rough start when Def Jam Records mistakenly dropped her at age nineteen. After a slight draw back she began to sing in a rock band named Lower East Side. While singing for them she was also a songwriter at the Interscope Records for several established acts, which included Akon. He heard her sing one day and convinced Jimmy Lovine, Interscope\'s chairmen, to sign her to a joint deal with the label and Akon\'s Kon Live Distribution label.Her Debut album, The Fame, was released in August of 2008 to critical and commercial success. With such positive reviews, it has gone up number one in four countries, which also topped the Billboard Top Electronic Albums chart in the United States. In 2009, after opening \'New Kids on the Block\' and \'Pussycat Dolls\', Gaga was on her first headlining Lady Gaga Tour, \'The Fame Ball Tour\'. After selling over 20 million digital singles and 3 million albums worldwide, she is now one of the biggest-selling artists of 2009. She\'s an impressive singer who new what she was doing.Before she was famous she lived in Yonkers, New York as the eldest child to Italian American parents, Joseph and Cynthia Germanotta. She was born March 28th, 1986. At age eleven she was set to join Juilliard School in Manhattan, but she instead ended up going to Convent of the Sacred Heart, which was a private Catholic school. Being musical since age 4 with the piano, she played at open mike night with her created songs at age 14. At her seventeenth year she was welcomed into the New York University\'s Tisch School of the Arts. There she improved her song writing with essays on art, religion and socio-political order. Later on Gaga withdrew from school and focused on making it in the musical world and signed on with Def Jam Records.Ever since she began to become more popular and recognized for her talent at music her career has taken off. Being so successful she has been booked with concerts. Lady Gaga Tour has been going on since \'The Fame Ball Tour\'. She worked hard for everything she is doing now and continues to work just as hard even though she is famous now. Being the driven woman she is, she has accomplished so much in so little time.
