More About Montgomery Gentry

The group Montgomery Gentry consists of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry. The band was formed in 1993 in Kentucky but didn't sign with Columbia Records until 1999 which was the same year they has a platinum-certified album "Tattoos & Scars". A couple of the songs that topped the charts on this album were "Hillbilly Shoes", which topped the charts at number thirteen and "Lonely and Gone" saw a number five ranking. Montgomery Gentry won the Vocal Duo of the Year award at the CMA Awards in 2000 beating out Brooks & Dunn. Feeding off the energy of winning the Vocal Duo of the Year award the duo went on to record their next album, "Carrying On", which was released in 2001. The songs "She Couldn't Change Me" and "Cold One Comin' On", would prove to be good songs for the group on this album since this album would make it to gold. In 2002 the album "My Town" would be released and would be certified platinum also, the duo seemed to be well on their way to stardom and fame with their careers. Montgomery Gentry would see all their hard work pay off with winning an award at the ACM awards for Top New Vocal Duo or Group. Then in 2000 at the CMA awards the Vocal Duo of the Year beating out Brooks and Dunn. The duo has released nine different albums in the last ten years and they all have proven to be top selling albums in their category especially the "Something to Be Proud Of: The Best of 1999-2005" album.
