Neil Young is an outspoken classic rocker who loves to entertain and to raise a few eyebrows in the process. Neil Young wrote a recorded a legendary album “Harvest” in the 1970s and he was expected to continue to record similar music during the rest of his time with Geffen Records. Young broke away from the norm and decided to record a couple of rockabilly albums instead. He actually took the time to file a counter suit against David Geffen and Geffen Records when the company tried to sue Neil Young for producing unrecognizable music. Young continued his anti-establishment stance with the song “This Note’s For You.”
You may get to hear some of these tunes if you buy Neil Young tickets. Young has also been known to play several of the songs that he recorded with David Crosby, Graham Nash and Stephen Stills. “Long May You Run” is a very popular song that you may get to hear at a Neil Young tour event. Neil Young has also been known to participate in benefit concerts for causes such as Farm Aid and Voters for Choice. One of his newer albums “Living With War” was very well received by many within the media who appreciated Neil Young’s anti-war stance. The album got to be even more controversial when Young added a song title “Let’s Impeach The President”. Some people criticized Neil for speaking his mind about United States politics while actually being a Canadian, but he has lived legally in this country for so many years he has never stopped speaking his mind.
If you’re able to attend one of the concerts this year you may also get to hear great Neil Young songs such as “After The Goldrush” or “HomeGrown” which he generally plays at Farm Aid concerts as a way of promoting domestically made food. Some of the other songs that you may hear include heart wrenching tunes like “Heart of Gold” and “Needle and the Damage Done.” Neil Young does have a tendency to take you on a poetic journey with songs such as “Out on The Weekend” or one of his newer songs like “When God Made Me”, generally this is to the appeal of most of his fans and one of the reasons that most of his tours hold such success.
