Jennifer Nettles had her own band named, the Jennifer Nettles Band, when she was approached by Kristian Bush and Kristen Hall in 2003 about being their lead singer in the band Sugarland, of course she graciously accepted.
Sugralnd signed with Mercury Nashville Records in 2004 which was the year they were noticed by millions of fans with their debut single "Baby Girl" from the album "Twice the Speed of Life". This single would top the charts at number two on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in the US. The album went on to sell over two million copies, which was amazing considering this was their very first album.
In 2006 Kristen Hall left the group to pursue other opportunities so the band was left with Nettles and Bush to continue on and they did just that. The released the second album, "Enjoy the Ride" which gave them their first two number one singles "Want To" and "Settlin'". Later that year this amazing duo went on to win a Grammy Award for the very popular song "Stay".
The band has had much success with picking who they want to perform with also. In 2005 Nettles performed with John Bon Jovi on the song "Who Says You Can't Go Home". This song would top the charts at number one on the country charts. Later in 2005 Sugarland went on tour with Brad Paisley and in 2006 went out with the amazing Kenny Chesney, the Sugarland tour was seeing loads of success.
In 2009 at the American Grammy Awards Sugarland would come home with awards for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group for "Stay" and Best Country Song for "Stay". At the Academy of Country Music Awards the band would leave with Top Vocal Duo. Also in 2009 at the CMT Music Awards the band would win Duo Video of the Year for "All I Wanna Do". After this amazing year Sugarland concerts will be one the top concerts to see in future years to come. So, keep your eyes open for Sugarland tour dates near you, as this will be a concert that you will not want to miss.
