If there was ever a band that brought back the blues driven, hard rock of the Rolling Stones during the 1990's, it was none other than the Black Crowes. What started out as a garage band between two brothers from Georgia ended up being a band that has sold over 20 million records and is still going strong today.
The early origin of the Black Crowes began when two brothers from Georgia, Rich and Chris Robinson, eventually became a band that Melody Maker magazine dubbed 'The Most Rock n Roll Band in the history of Rock n Roll'. They officially became a band in 1984 but it was in 1989 when the Black Crowes were signed to American Recordings and the rest is history.
The Black Crowes made a huge splash in 1990 when they hit the charts with their debut album 'Shake Your Money Maker'. It was this record where the band's signature hits are found with hits like 'Hard to Handle', 'She Talks to Angels', 'Jealous Again', and 'Twice as Hard'. While the band has marched on since the early and mid 1990's, the band has just released a new album titled, 'Before the Frost...'. The innovative maneuver with this record is that if you purchase it you get a code to be downloaded on the internet which allows the user to get the companion to the new record, 'Until the Freeze...'. The record was released on August 31, 2009 and with that a tour is sure in the making. Make sure to get your tickets to the Black Crowes well in advance of the show as they are likely to sell out relatively fast.
If you want to see what rock and roll music is supposed to sound like then the Black Crowes would be the band that you would want to see live and in person. If you want to experience the Rolling Stones and their sound from their heyday of the 1970's, the Black Crowes would be the band to check out. With their new record out and the upcoming touring to go with it will no doubt let you see one of the greatest bands of all times.
