About Arizona Diamondbacks
In only their second season, 1999, the team won 100 games on their way to a National League West division title. Two years later, in 2001, the Diamondbacks won the NL West again on the way to the franchise’s first World Series title. With a World Series victory, Arizona surpassed the Florida Marlins as the quickest franchise to win a World Series after inception.
Recently, the Diamondbacks have been rebuilding from a tough stretch in the early 2000s. After winning the World Series in 2001, the franchises older players began to depart or retire and the team fell into a slump from 2003 to 2007. In 2007 the Diamondbacks began to rebuild and recaptured the NL West title and made a run to the NL Championship Series, eventually losing to the Colorado Rockies.
Tickets to Diamondback games at Chase Field have always been a good commodity. Chase Field is one of baseball’s finer venues and features some perks, like a hot tub party section in the outfield that other parks lack. Arizona markets tickets to their games as a distraction from the summer heat in Phoenix. Currently, injuries have marred the Diamondbacks’ 2009 season and as a result they are having a down season. The Diamondbacks have roughly five weeks left in their season and will welcome the following clubs to Chase Field; Houston, Milwaukee, Colorado, San Francisco, San Diego, and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
