About Kobalt Tools 500
Located just outside of Atlanta in Hampton, Ga., this mile and a half tri-oval has boasted winners that have cemented their names in the annals of NASCAR’s record books. The Kobalt Tools 500 is always run in early March. The 2009 race was won in dominating fashion by Kyle Busch. It was also during this race that one of the most memorable moments in NASCAR history occurred when Kevin Harvick won in just his third start after taking over for the late Dale Earnhardt, just weeks after Earnhardt’s fatal crash at Daytona back in 2001. It was here that the infamous ‘3′ hand signal by race fans became the icon that it is today.
