About Denver Nuggets
When the Nuggets are on a scoring run, their fan support is reminiscent of the rumble of thunder over the Rocky Mountains. In the early days of the National Basketball Association in 1950, the Nuggets played in the 6,800-seat Auditorium Arena in downtown. The team later became the Denver Rockets, one of the premier teams in the rough and ready American Basketball Association. The early version of the Rockets played at the Denver Coliseum in the city’s stockyards area. Owners returned to the Nuggets name, a reflection of Colorado’s gold mining heritage, with an eye toward the ABA’s merger into the NBA. In 1990, the team took a step up from McNichols Arena to the state-of-the-art Pepsi Center making the fan experience even better.
The history of the franchise includes Hall of Fame players Dan Issel, Alex English, and David Thompson and Coaches Larry Brown, Alex Hannum, and John McLendon. With their best NBA season (54-28) ever and a trip to the conference finals, the Nuggets upcoming season promises to be the most exciting yet. This season’s Denver nuggets schedule will bring the best the NBA has to offer to Denver fans. And of course, you can buy your Nuggets tickets at our site. With the Lakers, Spurs and Trailblazers all improving their rosters, the NBA’s Western Conference promises to be tough as nails this year. Pundits see the Nuggets as a squad that will have to scramble for a playoff spot. But the Nugget front office has been busy, too. In addition to fan favorites Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups, the team now coming together under head Coach George Karl has high expectations for itself. It won’t be a cakewalk, says one Nugget, but after reaching the conference finals last season the players know they have what it takes.
