About Toronto Raptors

They were led by point guard Damon Stoudamire. He was a young an exciting point guard picked seventh overall by the Raptors. The team started to really take off in the 1998 draft. Through this draft they acquired Vince Carter. With the acquisition of Vince Carter, the Toronto Raptors were starting to look like a legit threat in the Eastern Conference. The team ended up setting league attendance records because everyone wanted to watch Vince play basketball. They added some more pieces to the puzzle and the Toronto Raptors made their first playoff appearance in the 2000 season. This was only after of five years of existence. The Raptors would make the playoffs three seasons in a row, during the 2000, 2001, and 2002 seasons. They ended up getting their first ever playoff series win in the 2001 season. Vince Carter moved on in 2004 and now the face of the franchise is Chris Bosh. Chris Bosh is an elite power forward in the NBA. He makes the Toronto Raptors a very competitive franchise.

The Toronto Raptors current roster has some young players, but the buzz around this team is the signing of Hedo Turkoglu. Hedo was the perhaps the biggest free agent and the Raptors made their team significantly better by signing him. Now they have two legit all stars in their starting lineup, which makes them even more dangerous than before.
