About Denver Broncos
Their first years of success came under Coach Red Miller, who took them to Super Bowl XII. Although they didn’t win, after eighteen years of trying, they had finally gotten to the big game and were beginning to earn respect and recognition around the National Football League. In the early 1980’s the team acquired both Coach Dan Reeves and future Hall of Fame Quarterback John Elway. This combination eventually took them to Super Bowls XXI, XXII, and XXIV, all resulting in losses. When friction between Reeves and Shanahan became an issue, Reeves was fired. The 1995 season saw the beginning of the Mike Shanahan era. Shanahan and Elway proved to be a dynamic combination of a coaching mastermind and a quarterback that could make anything happen. In 1996 they went to the playoffs and lost, but in 1997 they beat the defending champion Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XXXII. Then in 1998 they made it two in a row by winning Super Bowl XXXIII.
The 2009 season proves to be an interesting one after the shocking firing of Mike Shanahan and the hiring of rookie head coach, Josh McDaniels, who has been controversial, at best. The release of Jay Cutler, the quarterback with the rocket arm who was supposed to be the future of the Broncos, has stirred a lot of emotion among Bronco fans.
Mile High Stadium was home to the Broncos until 2001 when Invesco field was completed. Owner Pat Bowlen and die-hard Bronco fans were not willing to completely give up the name that had stood for years, so it is often referred to as Invesco Field at Mile High. Denver Bronco games at Invesco Field are some of the loudest in the league. If you are a Bronco fan, you need to experience that feeling by purchasing Invesco Field tickets and getting a chance to be part of the action.
