They played their very first game in Chicago Stadium which unfortunately no longer exists. In 1954 the team was purchased by a new owner who went on to build it into one of the most popular and winning teams in the franchise. After the closing of the Chicago Stadium they went on to play their home games at the United Center.
One fun fact about the Chicago Blackhawks is that they are escorted to their games by their mascot who is named Tommy Hawk. The costume worn by the mascot is of a hawk with four feathers on his head. He wears a Blackhawks jersey and hockey pants. The official team song is called “Here Comes the Hawks”. The jerseys worn by the Chicago Blackhawks team are black. When they played for the 2009 winter games they wore the old style jerseys in the 1930’s style. The current jersey is black with a large beige stripe across the chest and sleeves. It includes a red border with the Blackhawks logo, which goes perfect with the current colors for the team; red, black and white. The team is owned by Rocky Wirtz.
