More About Florida Panthers

The Panthers are members of the NHL's Southeast division of the Eastern Conference. The franchise's best season to date came during the 1995/96 season when the team reached the Stanley Cup finals only to be swept by the Colorado Avalanche. The Panthers play all their home games at BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida north of Miami. The future of the Panthers remains up in the air with the 2009/10 season approaching. The team wasn't overly active during the off-season as the franchise is currently up for sale and no change of ownership has yet occurred. General Manager Jacques Martin left the franchise and Randy Sexton has stepped in as the acting general manager and remains a finalist to keep the job permanently. The franchise parted ways with All Star Jay Bouwmeester while welcoming in new additions Jordon Leopold and Steven Reinprecht. Florida Panthers tickets are generally easy to get a hold of as fan support in South Florida goes up and down with the play of the team. The Panthers' will host five home games in the first month of the season at BankAtlantic Center. Chicago, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Buffalo, and Ottawa all come to South Florida in October as the Panthers open the 2009/10 season.
