Jacksonville has an impressive track record of winning seasons and playoff appearances for a franchise very much in its infancy still. After a dismal 4-12 season in 1995, the Jaguars shocked the NFL in 1996 by finishing 9-7 and making a run all the way to the AFC Championship game. Jacksonville's amazing performance that season was the start of four straight seasons in which the Jaguars would finish with a winning record and make the playoffs.
Over the course of the franchise's history they have had only two head coaches. Tom Coughlin led the team from its inception in 1995 until 2002. In 2003 former NFL linebacker Jack Del Rio took over and remains as head coach to this day. The two coaches combined to lead the franchise to six playoff appearances in 14 seasons, four under Coughlin and two under Del Rio.
Since joining the league in 1995, the Jaguars have called Jacksonville Municipal Stadium home. Despite its relatively small market size, the Jacksonville area has done a wonderful job of supporting its franchise.
