The first Kansas 300 was held on September 29th, 2001, and was won by Jeff Green in a Ford Taurus. The race was previously known as the Mr. Goodcents 300 (from 2001 to 2004); the Yellow Transportation & Sprint 300 (in 2005) and the Yellow Transportation 300 (from 2006-2007). This year the Kansas 300 race is sponsored by the Kansas Lottery, and will be known as the Kansas Lottery 300.
In 2008 the Kansas Lottery 300 was won by Denny Hamlin in car number 11, a Toyota Camry. The 2007 race was won in a Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS by Kyle Busch. Each year has proved to be more titillating than the last, providing NASCAR racing fans with an entire weekend of racing.
