More About Altar Boyz

This comedy musical takes place during the last show of the Altar Boyz's 'Raise the Praise' concert tour. The characters are the five teen-heartthrob members of the band: Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan, and Abraham. Even though they are a Christian boy band, it is mentioned that Abraham is actually Jewish. Most of the show is the Boyz actually performing their concert, with a bit of dialog in between each song. The Boyz keep referring to their 'Soul Sensor DX-12' which is supposedly displaying the number of burdened souls currently in the theatre. They say that their goal is to get the number down to zero by the end of the show. Throughout the concert, the Altar Boyz ask themselves if their faithfulness to the band and their Christian beliefs are keeping them together. This delightful musical has lots of catchy musical numbers and entertaining audience participation. Altar Boyz shows can be seen in the touring production and in regional theatres. Even though Altar Boyz never actually played on Broadway in New York, an Altar Boyz Broadway performance can still be seen in the touring production.
