The title character is secretly taking ballet lessons with the money his father has given him for boxing lesson. Billy’s father and brother do not approve of his ballet lessons, and Billy is torn between doing what he loves and earning his father’s approval. Although the dance teacher, Mrs. Wilkinson, believes that he has the talent to earn him a place at the Royal Ballet School, and Billy has found support in his friends Michael and Debbie, Billy tries to please his father by giving up dance.
