More Dover International Speedway Information
The Dover International Speedway is one mile long, has forty three pit positions with water and electricity and located in Dover, Delaware which can accommodate 135,000 race car enthusiast’s, will allow weddings on non-race days and if you want to, there are opportunities to drive on the track yourself. On site at this huge race car facility is a casino, a hospitality tent village and a hotel. The Dover offers parking for the disabled, tent and R.V. parking and a corporate sky box.

The Dover has been run by the best. Included drivers to date include Bobby Allison, Geoff Bodine, Dale Earnhardt, Terry Labonte, Ricky Rudd, Darrell and Michael Waltrip. The list goes on and on.
History of the Track
Dover had its first race in July of 1969, which was the Mason-Dixon 300 and that was won by race car champion Richard Petty. In 2001, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. wins the Dover’s first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The next year Dover Downs International Speedway becomes Dover International Speedway. In 2004, Dover reveals The Monster Bridge which is enclosed by glass, has fifty six seats and overlooks the track in Turn 3. In the same year, the first “Monster” trophy is accepted by driver Ryan Newman. In 2006, Dover issues a Press Release stating plans for a “Monster Makeover” which will take place over a multiple year span.
