More Texas Motor Speedway Information

The Texas Motor Speedway, formerly known as Texas International Raceway is located in the Alliance business area of Fort Worth, Texas in Denton County and it is huge! The track measures 1.5 miles in circumference, has a quad-oval designed and is very similar to Atlanta Motor Speedway and Lowe’s Motor Speedway, which was formerly Charlotte Motor Speedway. Banks are turned at twenty four degrees. There are seats for 150061 race car enthusiasts. There is also one hundred ninety four skybox suites for VIPs. Speedway Motorsports, Inc. owns the track which has been in existence since 1995 and opened up to the public the next year when it became the Texas Motor Speedway.

Famous drivers who have driven the track for competition include Greg Biffle, Jeff Burton, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne, Matt Kenseth, Terry Labonte, Mark Martin, Ryan Newman, Elliott Sadler, Tony Stewart and Brian Vickers. The TMS has also hosted the Sprint Cup Series, Nationwide Series, Camping World Truck Series and the Indy Racing League.

While the track does offer luxury suites for overnight guests, there are other places to stay in the area. There is also a movie theater a slight ways down the highway and plenty of dining as well.
