More Jacksonville Jaguars Info

Jacksonville has an impressive track record of winning seasons and playoff appearances for a franchise very much in its infancy still. After a dismal 4-12 season in 1995, the Jaguars shocked the NFL in 1996 by finishing 9-7 and making a run all the way to the AFC Championship game. Jacksonville's amazing performance that season was the start of four straight seasons in which the Jaguars would finish with a winning record and make the playoffs. Over the course of the franchise's history they have had only two head coaches. Tom Coughlin led the team from its inception in 1995 until 2002. In 2003 former NFL linebacker Jack Del Rio took over and remains as head coach to this day. The two coaches combined to lead the franchise to six playoff appearances in 14 seasons, four under Coughlin and two under Del Rio. Since joining the league in 1995, the Jaguars have called Jacksonville Municipal Stadium home. Despite its relatively small market size, the Jacksonville area has done a wonderful job of supporting its franchise. Tickets to Jaguar games at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium can be hard to come by, especially in the early years. New team fever combined with winning records kept the seats full, making tickets a difficult find. But you can be assured that you'll always be able to find available seating on our site. In their 14 year existence, Jacksonville has finished the NFL regular season with a losing record only six times. The majority of these down season occurred between 2000-2003 as the old guard that helped bring Jacksonville early success began to age and break apart. After early success under Jack Del Rio, injuries and inconsistency hampered the Jaguars in 2008 and they limped to a 5-11 finish. The Jaguars have a strong base of good talent however and look to rebound well in 2009. Over the course of the season, Jacksonville will host eight home games at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. Arizona, Tennessee, St. Louis, Kansas City, Buffalo, Houston, Miami, and Indianapolis will all face the Jaguars in Jacksonville this season.
